As the end of summer approaches, it is the busiest time for students to commit to moving in preparation for a new academic school year. Thus, as your good friend with moving, E.E. Ward would like to offer some helpful tips for students to consider in preparing for their move:

1. Before moving day, verify whether your homeowners insurance will cover the valuables stored in a dorm room or apartment: computers, cameras and other electronics can be costly to replace if damaged or stolen. If you need insurance, ask your college’s residential administrator how to find a local agent.
2. Pack your TV, computer, and electronic equipment in their original containers: did you throw them away? Don’t worry. We’ve got boxes for special items in a range of sizes.
3. Use clear plastic boxes for small dorm items. They make it easier to find what you’re looking for.
4. Label your boxes and pack them in order of priority: medicines, jewelry, and paperwork should be easy to get to, once you’re on campus. You might not have a lot of time to unpack before activities start.
